a week of 'carpe diem' life

this last week was pretty packed and fun. spent most of the week visiting south and central taiwan via high speed rail 高鐵 (above photo), tues-fri in tainan 台南, fri-sat in kaohsiung 高雄, sat in taichung 台中 and then back to taipei 台北 sat night.

• tainan 台南 (tues-fri):
  arrived in 台南 around 6pm on tues night. it was great to see 媽媽,外婆,舅舅,舅媽,表妹 in 台南, went shopping with 貝貝, watched ‘once’ and played frisbee with 甜甜 咪咪 and checked out my parents’ new place. 燒烤 and 章魚球 = good stuff!  it was also great to have some mother-son time, since i don’t get to see her that often.

• kaohsiung 高雄 (fri-sat):
  visited mason (and yaya) in 高雄, got there at 3pm on friday.  mason picked us up from the 高鐵 station, he has a really nice place! 5 bathrooms and a ridiculous amount of space hehe we played ping pong, had outback for dinner by 愛河, and went for a late night body massage. headed back to mason’s at 1am and watched in awe as john mccain declared his female VP choice, sarah palin. haha

• taichung 台中 (sat):
  then saturday morning, took 高鐵 to 台中 and met up with maria and vicky, nancy later joined us too. we went to maria’s former college and hung out for a bit, had lunch at 鼎王 hot pot and then walked around and had tea at 春水堂, visited 美術館 where we went in a super quiet library and used the internet to check my 無名 blog while giggling and whispering loudly hahaha, had dinner nearby on the strip of really nice-looking restaurants. checked out the night performance in the park, pretty good singers! vicky, nancy, and i were talking with a 台 accent like the entire day, hilarious :)

• taipei 台北 (sat night):
  took 高鐵 back to 台北 at night, met up and had a few drinks with chuck, maria, peggy, lee, chie, andy, and christina for chuck’s takeoff from 台灣. it was a good feeling to have everyone together again.  i didn’t start arranging the get-together till i got on the 高鐵 from 台中 to 台北 saturday night haha, the poor phone reception sucked!  but it all worked out :)

small performance at 晶華酒店 on sunday morning, then played 4 hours of ps3 with lee at chuck’s place lol, almost beat the game ‘resistance: fall of man’, then chuck/lee/i went and watched the new adam sandler ‘zohan’ film at 美麗華 (hilarious at times but overall bleh). then moved fafa (cat) over to my new place.

what a friggin week it’s been! :p
